He was born in Milan in 1942. He grew up during the reconstruction era following the war and began photographing the atmospheres of his city while narrating the nascent music and performance scenes; he followed socio-political movements in 1968 and collaborated with publications like Il Mondo, L’Espresso, L’Europeo, La Stampa, and Il manifesto. He narrates international events in India, Korea, Africa, and in the former Yugoslavia. He became interested in investigative reporting along with journalists, sociologists, and historians. His latest book Scritto sull’acqua is an investigation of the territory of Bari and the worship of Padre Pio.
