He was born in Aosta in 1962. Following his degree in Political Science he turned to photography. A professional since 1992 as a collaborator for the magazine Epoca, in 1994 at Arles (France) he won the Panorama Européen Kodak Prize or the reportage Ragazzi di strada di Bucarest. Over the years he became specialized in geographic and ethnographic reportage work and traveled to many countries. He has also published with magazines such as Geo and National Geographic. He has also published various books and taken part in numerous exhibitions. From 2010 to 2012 he worked on the European project E.C.H.I. regarding the immaterial heritage of Alpine cultures.
