Pictures of the Jewish migration to Israel 1921/1946
Unpublished photographs testify to the exodus of the Jews of Europe towards Israel through the port of Trieste. The dramatic historic adventure of the European Jews, for whom the port of Trieste represented the sole road to salvation, for reaching Israel and fleeing from the persecutions of the pogroms and nazism. This journey, made by thousands of families between 1920 and 1940, had never before been documented in a book with photographs. Fortunately, a man with a small child, who was very active within the Hebrew Community in Trieste, had taken numerous photos that today make it possible to reconstruct the stages of that journey of hope.
