The book is divided in three parts. The first is the reproduction of the photographic album of the Holy Land made by Giacomo Borgi in 1868 for the king of Italy. At the side of the old image with the original description there is a new photo of the same view with a new comment of comparison. The second part is made by the prints from the Collection of the photographic plates for projection of the most various contents which had belonged to a friar of the Order of the Cappuccini, father Luigi da Pietrasanta, which he had used for the purpose of teaching the catechism. The vast numbers of themes touched goes from the New Testament to the history of the church in its beginnings, but also to the scientific discoveries, to art, to pedagogy, etc. The third part is a Notes for an anthropology of the city with the history of the urban development of Jerusalem made with the comparison of the old photographs with the ancient maps and plans.
