UIG-F-000099-0000 Joseph Bruce Ismay. Joseph Bruce Ismay, passenger on the Titanic, was born at Crosby, near Liverpool on 12 December 1862 and died 17th October 1937. He was senior partner in the firm of Ismay, Imrie and company and founder of the White Star Line. The family lived at Dawpool, Chesire. Ismay was rescued from the Titanic in Collapsible C. Titanic was built by Harland & Wolff in Belfast Ireland during 1910 - 1911, and sank on 15th April, 1912, after striking an iceberg off the coast of New Foundland during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York, USA, with the loss of 1,522 passengers and crew.
