1934, FRANCE : Cover of french book by MICHEL GEORGES-MICHEL " La vie brillante et tragique de la princesse Fahmy Bey parisienne" (1934). The Egyptian Princess FAHMY BEY, a frenchwoman the daughter of a cab driver and a char lady, born with name Marie-Marguerite Laurient Meller (1890 - 1971), married in 1922 Egyptian Prince Ali Kamel Fahmy Bey aged 22 (1901 - 1923). After 6 months of marriage, the day 10 July 1923, Marguerite killed with a revolver his housband in a room of elegant Savoy Hotel in London. The death of the Prince is frequently on lists of victims of the so-called Curse of the Pharaohs, after Howard Carter 's discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamun. Madame Fahmy was acquitted.
