1912, SWEDEN : The Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia (1890 - 1958).Was a daughter of Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich (1860 - 1919) and Princess Alexandra of Greece and Denmark (1870 - 1891), a grand daughter of Emperor Alexander II of Russia and a first cousin of Nicholas II, Russia's last Tsar. In 1908, Maria Pavlvova married Prince Wilhelm of Sweden and Norway (1884 - 1965), Duke of Södermanland.The couple have a son: Count Lennart Bernadotte of Wisborg prince of Sweden (1909 - 2004). The marriage ended in divorce in 1914. In September 1917, during the period of the provisional government, she married Prince Sergei Mikhailovich Putiatin. The couple escaped revolutionary Russia through Ukraine in July 1918. In exile she settled in Paris in 1920 and opened Kitmir, an embroidering fashion atelier with success. In 1923, she divorced and in 1928ì emigrated to the United States. Returned permanently to Europe in 1949.
