1962, 5 march, ALGIERS: The italian Italian journalist and television author Prince NICOLA CARACCIOLO (born in 1931), who remained in Algiers after others italian newsmen left the country following threats by OAS extremists, attends press conference i Algiers. Caracciolo roamed Algiers in search of news, aware that he is wanted, preferably dead, by the SECRET ARMY ORGANIZATION (OAS or Organization Armée Secrete). Within hours after the departure of the other Italian journalists, the OAS made an apparent attempt to kill or kidnap Caracciolo (in this image TELEPHOTO wire). Nicola Caracciolo was the son of Prince Filippo Caracciolo di CASTAGNETO Duca di Melito (1903-1965) and the american Margaret Clarke. Nicola as the brother of celebrated MARELLA AGNELLI (married with FIAT car Industry mogul Gianni Agnelli) and married two times: the first in 1963 with 1963 Giuditta Trenholme (a daughter: Marella, married with famous artist painter SANDRO CHIA, 2 daughters) and after divorce with Rossella Sleiter (a son, Filippo death for cancer in 2013, married with Fabrizia Casagrande, two daughters). Nicola alsa is the brother of Carlo Caracciolo (1925-2008), publisher who created Gruppo Editoriale LEspresso, one of Italy's leading publishing groups.
