1906, USA: The celebrated american transvestite singer and actor JULIAN ELTINGE (1881-1941), Postcard printed in Great Britain by Rotary Photo co from may 1906, in occasion of Elting performance at the londonian PALACE THEATRE with the show" The Wonderful Eltinge". As his star began to rise, he appeared in vaudeville and toured Europe and the United States, even giving a command performance before King Edward VII. He died in 1941 following a show at a New York nightclub. He leaves a legacy as one of the greatest female impersonators of the 20th century
