D'Etienville was involved into the affair of the necklace of the scam to the Queen Marie Antoinette with others members of the french Royal Court like the Count of Cagliostro. In this engraving from XIX century De Bette Detienville went voluntarily to the police station at Grand Châtelet of Paris, a stronghold in Ancien Régime, on the site of what is now the Place du Châtelet, it contained a court and police headquarters and a number of prisons at time
