1928, april, STOLP, Pomerania, GERMANY (today SLUPSK, POLAND): The italian General UMBERTO NOBILE (1885-1978) with TITINA his pet Fox Terrier dog wich was the mascotte, hero of Arctic explorations, photo of the arrival of the transpolar airship ITALIA at Stolp town being maneuvred into the hangar here by soldiers of the German Army. The great italian explorer soared to Berlin to confer with officials of the Society for the Exploration of the Arctic, before flying to Spizbergen.
