1850 ca, GREAT BRITAIN: The british Thomas Addison (1793 1860), renowned great physician and scientist at Guy's Hospital in London. Among other pathologies he discovered Addison's disease (a degenerative disease of the adrenal glands) and Addisonian anemia (pernicious anemia).
