1625 ca, ITALY: The italian Baroque painter GIOVANNI DA SAN GIOVANNI born MANOZZI or MANNOZZI (1592-1636). Engraved XIX century portrait from the original Manozzi da San Giovanni Self-portrait today at Galleria degli Uffizi, Firenze. Mannozzi started the decoration of the Sala degli Argenti in the Palazzo Pitti and planned decorations at Villa La Petraia. He befriended with painter Francesco Furini (1603-1646). Traveling together to Rome in 1619, he also would have been exposed to the influence of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio and his followers.
