1924 ca, WASHINGTON, DC, USA: The cat TIMMIE owned by Bascom N. Timmons, journalist and president of the National Press Club. With a canary named CARUSO which belonged to President of United States Calvin Coolidge. Coolidge gave Caruso to Timmons because the two pets were friends. They were very likely to have inspired the characters of Sylvester the Cat Tweety Bird in 1939 at Warner Bros (by cartoonists Robert McKimson, Chuck Jones and Friz Freleng)
