So Mister Carpenter believes as he chats with the guards at St. Peter's ". Frank G. Carpenter and his daughter Frances (1890 - 1972) to illustrate his writings on travel and world geography. Carpenter's works helped popularize cultural anthropology and geography in the early years of the twentieth century.
