1920 ca, Munchen, GERMANY : The exotic dancer JOACHIM Von SEEWITZ (1891 - 1966) with partner ballerina LO HESSE. Born Joachim von Brusewitz in Karlsruhe (Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany) from an old military noble family. He began his dance career in 1913 in Munich. In 1919 the celebrated music composer Richard Strauss advocated the obligation of Seewitz and his dance partner Lo Hesse (1889 - 1983) at the Vienna State Opera Theatre. Both opted for a tour of South America but he fefused the offer. Instead he went to Berlin performing Expressionist dances there between the wars. In 1921, the dancers turned to Franz W. Koebler, the director of the Berlin Ballet Clarisse and silent movie writer and director. In 1934 Seewitz was first soloist in the newly founded " Berlin Florence Ballet ". Seewits was photographed in an expressive manner by the Berlin photographer Frieda Riess (1890 - 1955). After the end of his career as a dancer, he returned to his hometown of Huckeswagen, where he later became the first cultural affairs officer of the city. He was buried in the family grave of Bruesewitz.
