1895 ca , ROMA, ITALY : The Count VINCENZO MACCHI. Nephew of Cardinal Vincenzo Macchi (1770 1860), was theOfficer of Artillery the day 20 september 1870 when close the door of church of San Giovanni in Laterano (Rome), when the Piemontese military fire from Villa Mattei with a cannon ball struck the lintel door an a stone injuried the left arm of Conte Vincenzo Macchi. Later the fall of Stato Pontificio at time of Papa PIO IX, the Count Vincenzo Macchi became the last Presidente Ex-Soldati Pontifici association.
