1930, ERITREA, AFRICA: The Negus of Eritrea Emperor Hailé Selassié I (Tafari Makonnen Woldemikael, 1892 - 1975), Negus Neghesti RASTAFARI, was Ethiopia 's regent from 1916 to 1930 and Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974. He was the heir to a dynasty that traced its origins by tradition from King Solomon and Queen Makeda, Empress of Axum, known in the Abrahamic tradition as the Queen of Sheba. In this photo with wife Empress Menen Asfaw ( Walatta Giyorgis, 1891 - 1962) and sons Amha Selassie (1916 - 1997) who was the was the last reigning Emperor of Ethiopia (Reign from 1989 to 1997) and Prince Makonnen Haile Selassie, Duke of Harar (Araya Yohannes, 1923 - 1957).
