1943, Milano, Italy : The italian Opera mezzosoprano singer GIANNA PEDERZINI (Vo di Avio, Trento, 1906 - Rome, 1988) at time of performing in CARMEN by BIZET at Teatro La Scala. After studying in Naples she made her debut in Messina in 1923, singing in LA GIOCONDA by Ponchielli in 1923. In 1927 Mascagni invited her to take part in the first performance of Zanetto, which he himself conducted. She sang in all the major opera houses in the world, and was appreciated especially in Il Trovatore, La Forza del destino, La Favorita, L'Italiana in Algeri, Aida, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Adriana Lecouvreur, to name but a few titles.
