1961, 3 april, ITALY : The celebrated and rare italian Post Stamp GRONCHI ROSA. Printed from Italian POST PRINT SERVICE for commemorate the visit of italian Repubblic President GIOVANNI GRONCHI in Peru, Argentina and Uruguay, 3 april 1961. Designed by illustrator RENATO MURA who make a mistake with the boundaries between Peru and Ecuador (fronter border before the war with Ecuador del 1941-1942). The rose-colored stamp was quickly replaced by a grey version with corrected boundaries, but some philatelic souvenirs using the Gronchi Rosa already existed. A forgery of this stamp is known to exist.
