1840 ca, MILANO, ITALY : The italian theatre actress AMALIA BETTINI (Milano 1809 - Roma 1894). Engraved portrait by Martini. Stage actress of great fame in the nineteenth century, was the daughter of actors Giovanni Bettini and Lucrezia Marra. Descovered by actor Giuseppe De Marini (1772 - 1829) aged 15 in 1824. Actress with the Compagnia Reale with venetian " capocomico " Salvatore Fabbrichesi (1760 - 1827), after 1828 Amalia Bettini create her hown company. In 1831 was engaged at work by Gaetano Nardelli, from 1835 was considered a real Superstar Diva of comedy and in 1840 performed plays with the Compagnia Reale Sarda. Was a real Muse for writers and poets but Bettini retired from the scenes when was aged 30 years old.
