1820 ca, Milano, ITALY : The italian theatre actor, writer and Bonapartist politician FRANCESCO RIGHETTI (Milano 1770 - Torino 1828). Author of three volumes of IL TEATRO ITALIANO (1826). Most celebrated for his roles in Vittorio ALFIERI tragedies but not pleased at writer STENDHAL who criticised the style of Righetti in his work " Capitolo del bello e della declamazione ". Righetti was in the Compagnia Rossi and after with Gaetana Goldoni and Compagnia Reale Sarda. Engraved portait by A. Viviani.
