1929, 24 october, BRUXELLES, BELGIUM : The italian ex fascist student FERNANDO DE ROSA (1908 - 1936), actually member of Seconde Internationale in Paris, who attempted to assassinate Crown Prince UMBERTO di SAVOIA Prince of Piemonte (1904 - 1983), future King of Italy UMBERTO II in may 1946. When the prince placed a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Bruxelles the day 24 october 1929. The prince visiting Bruxelles for his betrothal to the Princesse Marie José of Belgium why the wedding will take place in Rome next 8 january 1930. In this photo, 24 october 1929, the wold-be assassin being earried away by Belgian police after he had been almost killed by the infuriated mob. The trial in Brussels for De Rosa condamned him to five years, but then the sentence was reduced by half and moved to Spain in 1932. DE ROSA was killed by fascists of Francisco Franco while commanding a force of loyal militiamen on the Guardabbama front in Spain the day 16 september 1936.
