1890 ca : The italian actress Mimì AGUGLIA (Girolama -- Catania 31 december 1884 - Woodland Hills, California 31 july 1970). Daughter of Giuseppina Aguglia, a famous Sicilian actress. At 18 she married Baron Vincenzo Ferraù. Together with her theatrical colleagues, Angelo Musco and Giovanni Grasso, the first Sicilian Theatrical Company was born with Vincenzo as the producer. Successful that they expanded their tour throughout Europe. Brought to Broadway by impresario Charles Frohman in 1910, Aguglia later tourned both the Americas. In 1945 Mimi became a naturalized American citizen. She had three children, one of whom, Argentina Brunetti (married with Miro Brunetti), became a leading American motion picture character actress and journalist.
