1804, FRANCE : Jean-Baptiste Biot (1774 - 1862) with was a French physicist, astronomer and chemist and physicist Louis-Joseph GAY-LUSSAC (1778 - 1850) during the fly on balloon at 4.000 methers early flight (from a collectiong cards series by Romanet cie, France, dedicated to ballooning history from 1795 to 1846). Biot was a mathematician who established the reality of meteorites, made an early balloon flight, and studied the polarization of light. The mineral biotite was named in his honor.
