The spanish scientist and theologist of the Renaissance named MIGUEL SERVET (1511- 1553) aka MICHAEL SERVETUS aka MICHELE SERVETO aka Revés or Michel de Villeneuve (1509 or 1511-1553). Illustration XIX century engraved of The Execution of Michael Servetus. Servetus was was a Spanish theologian, physician, cartographer and Renaissance humanist. He was the first European to correctly describe the function of pulmonary circulation, as discussed in Christianismi Restitutio (1553). He participated in the Protestant Reformation. Condemned by Catholics and Protestants alike, he was arrested in Geneva and burnt at the stake as a heretic by order of the city's Protestant governing council.
