1841, Whales, GREAT BRITAIN: Portrait of GERTRUDE SMYTH Lady DINORBEN, portrait engraved by Finden from original portrait by painter John Hayter. Was the 2nd wife of William Lewis Hughes 1st Baron Dinorben (1767 1852), a British rich copper mine owner, philanthropist and Whig politician. The couple have two daughters: Gertrude Cecilia (dead very young in 1843) and Gwyn-Gertrude. Lord Dinorben died in February 1852, aged 74, and was succeeded in the barony by his younger but only surviving son from first wife, named William. William was disabled and the title became extinct on his early death only eight months after succeeding in the title.
