1905, GREAT BRITAIN: The italian scientist GUGLIELMO MARCONI (Bologna 1874-Roma 1937), inventor of thelegraph without leads. Caricature by SPY (aka Sir L. Ward), pubblishen in illustrated satyrical british magazine VANITY FAIR, 1905, lithography by Vincent Brooks, Day Son London. Marconi was NOBEL Award prize winner for Physics 1909, Senator of Italy from 1914, president of CNR (Centro Nazionale Ricerche) from 1928 and Accademia d'Italia from 1930. Later in life, Marconi was an active Italian Fascist and an apologist for their ideology (such as the attack by Italian forces in Ethiopia)
