1923, 22 november, New York, USA: The rich jewish german-born philantrophist multimillionnaire NATHAN STRAUS (1848-1931) sails on Italian Liner DUILIO of Navigazione Generale Italiana (NGI) transatlantic directed to Palestine. Was an American merchant and philanthropist who co-owned two of New York City's biggest department stores, R.H. Macy Company and Abraham Straus befor missing all his fortune for the cause Sionist. Exist a connection with celebrated ANNE FRANK child diarist. Nathan's son (Nathan, Jr., 1889-1961) attended Princeton University and arrived in Heidelberg University in 1908, where he met a young art history scholar named Otto Frank. Otto accepted a job at Macy's with Nathan Straus, Jr., where he fell in love with New York and its brashness. But Otto's father died in 1909, and Otto returned to Germany, where he fought in World War I and had to leave Germany, with his family, because of anti-Semitism. The Frank family relocated to Amsterdam, where Otto enlisted Nathan, Jr.'s assistance to help the Frank's obtain visas to relocate to the U.S. Unfortunately, despite receiving help from Nathan, Jr. and other connections, the Franks' visa applications were denied. Ultimately, the entire Frank family went into hiding. However, they were betrayed and interred in concentration camps. Otto's wife and daughters, Margot and Anne Frank, died at Bergen-Belsen camp
