1951, USA: The British-born conjoined twins sisters Daisy and Violet Hilton (1908-1969), starred in her second film CHAINED FOR LIFE (1952) by Harry L. Fraser, an exploitation film loosely based on their lives, in this photo the co-stars Patricia Wright and Mario Laval. Before the siamese Hilton sisters played a role into the celebrated movie FREAKS (1932) by Tod Browning. They were exhibited in Europe as children, and tourned the United States sideshow, vaudeville and American burlesque circuits in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1936 Violet married gay actor James Moore as a publicity stunt. The marriage lasted 10 years on paper, but it was eventually annulled. In 1941 Daisy married Harold Estep, better known as dancer Buddy Sawyer, who was also gay. The marriage lasted 10 days
