1947, USA: Cover of self-biography PORTRAIT WITH BACKGROUNDS by Catherine Barjansky, pubblished in USA by Macmillian Co, 1947. The russian born woman sculptor CATHERINE BARJANSKY (1890-1965), married with celebrated russian cellist Aleksandr Michajlovic Barjanskij (1883-1961). Close friend of poet Gabriele d'Annunzio and french writer Colette Willy, Catherine was a sculptor but became celebrated in over the world for her wax dolls portraits of celebrated people like ballerina Ida Rubinstein, Marchesa Luisa Casati, Eleonora Duse, Francesca Bertini, Arthur Schnitzler, Sigmund Freud, Albert Einstein, Sinclair Lewis, Bruno Walter, Frederich Delius, Colette and Krishnamurti. Today very rare to find why more of his work was missing (one of his portrait of Marchesa Casati still today exist at Vittoriale museum of Gabriele d'Annunzio, Gardone Riviera, Italy)
