1850, USA: The most celebrated swedish singer soprano JENNY LIND (1820 1887), often known as the Swedish Nightingale. One of the most highly regarded singers of the 19th century, she performed in soprano roles in opera in Sweden and across Europe, and undertook an extraordinarily popular concert tour of America beginning in 1850 organzied by famous manager and Circus showman P. T. Barnum, in 93 large-scale concerts. Lind was adored by famous composer like Robert Schumann, Hector Berlioz, Giuseppe Verdi and most importantly for her Felix Mendelssohn
