1875 ca, PALERMO, ITALY: The FORO ITALICO (o Passeggiata della Marina, unthil the year 1861 named Foro Borbonico o Foro Siciliano). In the aftermath of the Allied occupation of the city of Palermo (1943) during the Second World War, in order to clear the streets of the center from the collapses caused by the violent bombings by Allieds of spring-summer of that same year, the provisional AMGOT administration decided (In accordance with the city's plan), to fill with the remains of the collapse and demolition the sea stretch overlooking the marina walk
