1707, ROMA, ITALY: Monument in Rome for the Corsican Guard Affair Affaire de la garde corse of Pope Alexander VII and Charles III de Créquy, the French ambassador in Rome. In the Treaty of Pisa King of 12 February 1664 Louis XIV of France exacted apologies by the Pope, dissolution of the Corsian guard and the erection of a monument at the location of the attack on de Créquy in Rome. It seems Pope CLEMENTE IX (1600 1669) born Giulio Rospigliosi demolished the monument in 1668.
