1920 ca, ITALY: The italian politician catholic priest Don LUIGI STURZO (1871 1959) founder in 1919 of Partito Popolare Italiano party. He was known in his lifetime as a" clerical socialist", enemy of Fascism and is considered one of the fathers of the Christian democratic platform. He was forced into exile in 1924 with the rise of Italian fascism. In exile in London (and later New York) he published over 400 articles critical of fascism and later the post-war Christian Democrats (DC-Democrazia Cristiana). Nomined 1952, in the Italian Repubblic, Senatore a Vita (Senator for Life).
