1927, ITALY: Autograph dedication from celebrated italian Opera baritono GIUSEPPE BORGATTI (1871-1950) on his autobiographical book of memories LA MIA VITA D'ARTISTA (My Artist Life), pubblished by L. Cappelli, Bologna, 1927 (cover artwork by Bonfiglioli). From the spelling it is evident how much Borgatti, in his mature age, suffered from a serious problem of sight that then would have led to the total blindness in old age. At Teatro alla Scala of Milano was into the first performance of TOSCA by Giacomo Puccini in 1900. Later he established himself in the Richard Wagner repertoire in Europe and America, receiving great awards in Berlin in 1904. He became one of the best Wagnerian performers of all time. Still unsurpassed. Giuseppe was the father of celebrated scandalous and openly lesbian pianist Renata Borgatti (1894-1964), specialized in the repertoire of Claude Debussy
