1899, ITALY: The celebrated italian Opera baritono GIUSEPPE BORGATTI (1871-1950). In this photo, Borgatti at Teatro alla Scala of Milano was the first italian performance of SIGFRIDO (Siegfried) by Richard Wagner. He established himself in the Richard Wagner repertoire in Europe and America, receiving great awards in Berlin in 1904. He became one of the best Wagnerian performers of all time. Still unsurpassed. Giuseppe was the father of celebrated scandalous and openly lesbian pianist Renata Borgatti (1894-1964), specialized in the repertoire of Claude Debussy
