1924 c, ITALY: The celebrated italian Opera baritono GIUSEPPE BORGATTI (1871-1950). In this photo some memorabilia from his operatic career (portraits, caricatures with Richard Wagner, a caricature by the French artist SEM, sculpures, etc.), donated in 1924 by Borgatti for the museum of his hometown Cento (province of Bologna), then transferred to the Theater G. Borgatti, in 1933, dedicated to him in 1933 by the town. Borgatti was at Teatro alla Scala of Milano into the first performance of TOSCA by Giacomo Puccini in 1900. Later he established himself in the Richard Wagner repertoire in Europe and America, receiving great awards in Berlin in 1904. He became one of the best Wagnerian performers of all time. Still unsurpassed. His career ending in 1914. Giuseppe was the father of celebrated scandalous and openly lesbian pianist Renata Borgatti (1894-1964), specialized in the repertoire of Claude Debussy
