They where sons of celebrated mathematician Marchese Gaetano Gösta DEL PEZZO Duca di CAIANELLO (1892-1970) and Maria Rosaria DI TEANA (1894-1982). Carlottina Del Pezzo became the widow of Enrico Goldschmidt in 1961 (dead for overdose, only a year after the wedding), celebrated woman socialite of Capri, lover of lesbian writer Susan Sontag and painter Bice Brichetto
