1929, june, ANZIO, ROMA, ITALY: The celebrated italian photographer LUCIANO MORPURGO (1886 1971) (right side in this photo, with camera) with the family of journalist and writer GINO MASSANO (Bologna 1887-Roma 1942) (at left side, with beard smiling) during a tourist trip to Anzio. In this photo in front at sea. Gino Massano, Grand'Ufficiale della Corona d'Italia for cultural merits and military Maggiore degli Alpini, in 1940 in the editors of Istituto Geografico De Agostini di Novara, wrote more touristic guides and italian historical, folklore and Art for Morpurgo editions in Rome. In this photo with his wife Isolina Rinaldi, with black dress, and daughter Maria Luisa. Morpurgo born in Split from an ancient Jewish family, became editor in Rome of touristic guides but about all commercialized his photographic prints of reportages arount italian landscapes and architectures. For his particular merits, Morpurgo-who also wrote a letter of supplication to Benito Mussolini-on October 26, 1941 was excluded from the full application of the Fascist Racial Laws: he was then allowed to resume editorial activity. He managed to hide during the Nazi persecutions in 1943, he managed to resume editorial activity in 1946
