1930's, GENOVA, ITALY: The S.S. Rex was an Italian 51,100 ton ocean liner during the launch the day 1 august 1931.She held the westbound Blue Riband between 1933 and 1935. Rex was destroyed by Allied bombers in 1944 in a successful effort to prevent German forces from using the liner to blockade the port of Trieste. The Rex was featured in the Fellini film AMARCORD (1973)
