In reality Costentenus survive with two others sailors but were punished by tattooing at Bhamo, in Burma, why hostile at government. Escaped in China, Manila, Hong Kong, Suez and Vienna. In the early 1870s while in Vienna, he attracted the attention of medical professionals and anthropologists. Costentenus began to exhibit himself in western Europe.
