WHA-S-WHA041-0408 Helmet, probably from Lahore, Pakistan, 19th century steel, with a neck guard. The helmet was made for a Sikh warrior and is a type that might have been worn by soldiers in the armies of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It can be identified as specifically Sikh because it has a raised area on top of the skull to accommodate the topknot of uncut hair. Traditionally, Sikhs do not cut their hair and male Sikhs should not cut their beards Credito fotografico obbligatorio: World History Archive/Archivi Alinari Permessi e restrizioni: Solo uso editoriale AVVERTENZA: Autorizzazione obbligatoria per utilizzi non editoriali: rivolgersi ad Archivi Alinari Fotografo: World History Archive Collezione: World History Archive/Archivi Alinari Tipo oggetto: immagine digitale Tecniche: P immagine digitale Dati tecnici Dimensione (pixel): 3620 X 5912 Dimensione (cm a 300 dpi): 30 X 50 Dimensione (MB): 2.00 Color space: RGB
