"Michelangelo. Photographs from the Alinari Archives": catalogue presentation

On Friday, November 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., at the CARMI Museum in Carrara, Chiara Naldi and Rita Scartoni will present the volume published by Sillabe titled MICHELANGELO. PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE ALINARI ARCHIVES, edited by Rita Scartoni, with critical essays by Rita Scartoni, Cristina Acidini, and Chiara Naldi.

The catalogue is dedicated to the two exhibitions held in 2025 that showcased a selection of photographs from the Alinari Archives devoted to the artistic work of Michelangelo Buonarroti: the exhibition Per forza di levare. Michelangelo scultore nelle fotografie degli Archivi Alinari, at CARMI, and the exhibition Vedere Michelangelo, held at Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati in Florence. Both events were united by the celebration organized by the Region of Tuscany marking the 550th anniversary of the artist’s birth.
