A book dedicated to the great photographic work of Folco Quilici, whose name is immediately associated with the knowledge of the sea. As a matter of fact, he is one of the most important Italian documentary makers and he has a very close relationship with the sea, that has ever been his privileged discovery space and his faithful companion in his personal and professional adventure. For the first time, this book gives the reader the chance to discover Folco Quilici's great work as a Photographer with a wide and varied selection of photos from his personal archive, curated by his wife Anna Azan. The book presents 100 photographs, dating to between 1952 and 2008. They are some of the most significant images taken by Folco Quilici and dedicated to the world seas, from Polynesia to the Mediterranean, from Oceania to the Indian Ocean, with a particular care towards Greenland's landscapes, the coral reef, the traditions and rites, the villages along the coast, the world in the ocean depths with shipwrecks and underwater archaeology, the work of the fishermen, pirogues and sea-going vessels of all the seas, up to Polynesian children playing with frightening sharks.
