Fondazione Alinari participates to Florence Art Week: a series of appointments at the exhibition, starting on Friday, September 16, and ending on Saturday, September 24
Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia participates to the 1° edition of FLORENCE ART WEEK: a series of events wanted by the Municipality of Florence and born from the collaboration of important Florentine realities active in the artistic and cultural field.
From Friday, September 16, until Saturday, September 24, nine days of programming entirely dedicated to artistic production within the contemporary scene.
For the occasion, Fondazione Alinari per la Fotografia, in collaboration with Fondazione CR Firenze, presents a series of free guided tours within the exhibition Women photographers: Alinari Archives to Contemporary Perspectives', re-proposing, in a synchronic wa,y a history that, from the origins of photography, crosses the 20th century and arrives to the present day, placing side by side the first photographic procedures and contemporary experiments.
Emanuela Sesti, art historian and co-curator of the exhibition, will accompany the visitors throughout the difficult journey of women in photography, focusing on the dialogue between works from the Alinari collections and ten young contemporary women artists.
The path connects two prestigious Florentine sites that stand close together - Villa Bardini and Forte Belvedere.
Here are the appointments in collaboration with Florence Art Week:
- Friday, September 16, 5:30 pm, at Villa Bardini
Experimentations and Seductions: sisters Wanda and Marion Wulz
- Tuesday, September 20, 5:30 pm, at Villa Bardini
A darkroom of one's own: photographers between the 19th and 20th centuries, from Cameron to Madame d'Ora, from Lange to Bourke-White
- Friday, September 23, 5:30 p.m., at Forte Belvedere
The masters of twentieth-century Italian photography: Lisetta Carmi, Ketty La Rocca and Marialba Russo
All guided tours will be held in Italian and will be free.
Exhibition admission (including access to both Villa Bardini and Forte Belvedere venues): € 10 full, € 5 reduced.
